Sunrise Outdoor Yoga

Start your mornings at Allen Centennial Gardens with Sunrise Outdoor Yoga. This class is designed to energize the body and stimulate the mind. We will explore different poses to help strengthen and balance the body, adding variations and challenges along the way to keep the mind engaged. With a Vinyasa flow to ground the practice, each class will allow opportunity to expand upon the familiar, while still allowing our sense of curiosity to take us to beyond. Whether you're a ritualized and regular yogi, or brand new to the mat, this class will leave you feeling more open and connected -- a perfect way to start the day!

Opened to: Any UW Students, Faculty/Staff and the Friends of Allen Centennial Garden Organization are eligible to participate

Prerequisites:
  • None

Class Components:
  • Vinyasa-based flow
  • Movements that strengthen and balance the body

Addtional Details:
  • In case of rain/inclement weather, your instructor will notify you via email of an alternative location, date and/or time.
  • Please bring your own yoga mat

About the Instructor:

Megan D has been a Mind-Body Instructor for UW Rec Sports for over two years. She was first introduced to yoga when a new yoga teacher in her hometown community was offering outdoor classes over the summer six years ago. Ever since, she has consistently gained a passion for the practice, gaining both flexibility and strength in her mind and body. Megan’s favorite part about teaching is seeing new students kindling a love for the practice just like she had when she was first introduced. She is studying Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is set to graduate in December of this year.
